Shipping & Handling

Shipping & Handling is $20 per box that we ship to you.

The amount per box will vary depending on the foilage of the cultivar. Most orders we can ship in a single box; however, someone buying several hundred dollars worth of daylilies is likely to need additional box(s).

Plants are normally shipped USPS priority.

We are unable to ship outside the United States.

Shipping Season & Associated Terms/Definitions

Shipping Season: This refers to the time frame in which we sell and ship daylilies. This encompasses Spring Shipping and Late Summer Shipping as well as the entirety of the Retail Season.

The Shipping Season starts towards the end of April and Last thru the entire month of August. We do not have precise or exact dates on when shipping is open on daylilies. We must take factors in such as viability to ship, what zones they are being shipped to and if the daylily will survive the transport.  For a current shipping schedule see our Home Page.

Retail Season: This is the time frame in which we are open for daylily purchases in- person.

Typically Mid-June - July is Retail Season for daylilies.

Our daylily Shipping Season is April-August Here is the breakdown:

Early Shipping or Spring Shipping occurs Late April - Late May.  Exact Start Times are done by Zone and can be viewed on our Home Page.

{5 Acre Farm's Giftshop is open May 1st - August 31st.

At this time the giftshop is in-person only. We may offer a few items from the giftshop on our website in 2026, but if we fully implement our giftshop items then it will be done so during a future year of retail.}

Early/SPRING SHIPPING
Approximate Dates We Start Shipping by USDA Hardiness Zone –

• Zones 9-10: Late April
• Zone 8: Late April                                   
• Zone 7: First Part of May
• Zone 6: First Part of May
• Zone 5: Mid May
• Zones 2-4: Late May

We ship anywhere in the United States during the months of June and July.

In late summer we do stop shipping to Zones 2-4 because we would be competing with the cold and the plants might not be viable.

We ship during the month of August to Zones 5-10 only.

Delivery Date

If you request a specific date, we will ship your plants as close to the time you request as possible.
If you do not request a specific date – We do all of our shipping on Mondays. This is becuase we ship USPS and we want to ensure the plant arrives with no delay.

• Spring – we  will send at the appropriate time for Spring planting in your area, shipping always occurs on a Monday.
• Summer – we will send as soon as possible, normally the following Monday from when the order is placed.
• Autumn & Winter - we do not ship in the autumn or winter.      

We will do our best to ship as quickly as possible, but the plants are  growing in the ground, not sitting on a shelf, so it takes some time to  get them dug and ready to ship and conditions must be ideal so that they arrive safely and healthy.

Extra Fans

The industry standard is 2 fans per plant or unit sold. Our standard with 5 Acre Farm Daylilies LLC is 3 fans. Each stalk or scape has a fan-like pattern to the leaves. This is a fan, and 3 is what we standardly send out to make up your 1 plant that you order.

Ordering Online

At this time we are not offering direct payments online, aside from Gift Cards and Gift Certificates. We do take orders through telephone or e-mail.
